Applications Now Open for the 2027 Introductory Course on Japanese Swords

This introductory course on Japanese swords will begin in April.
Through the study of how to appreciate Japanese swords and the spirit behind them, participants will deepen their understanding of the Japanese sword as an important cultural tradition and cultivate a richer sense of appreciation.

2027 Sano Art Museum
Introductory Course on Japanese Swords

Lecturer: Maki Sumi (Former Curator, Sano Art Museum)
Venue: Lecture Room, Sano Art Museum
Qualifications:Participants must be members of the Muse Club, the Supporting Association of the Sano Art Museum.
Dates: April 2027 to March 2028 (4th Saturday of each month, except for December 2027, when it's the 3rd Saturday) 10:00-12:00, 12 sessions in total
Tuition: 132,000 yen (tax included, for all 12 sessions)
Target audience: Those who are studying Japanese swords for the first time. You will learn the basics of Japanese swords.
How to apply: Please let us know your intention to apply by phone in advance. We will inform you of the availability of seats in the course.
Afterward, please review the contents of the application form, fill in the necessary information, and mail it to the Sano Museum of Art.
