  • ・ August 1 (Founder Ryuichi Sano’s birthday): Free admission
    ・ Preschool children: Free admission
    ・ Saturdays and May 5 (Children’s Day): Free admission for elementary and junior high school students
    ・ Respect for the Aged Day: Free admission for visitors aged 65 and over
    ・ Visitors with disabilities: Free admission (Disability Certificate, Mirairo ID, or Specified Medical Expense Certificate), Companions (up to 2): Half‑price admission
    [International Visitors] Please present a government-issued disability ID with a photo and an English translation, or an official medical certificate in English
    ・ Partner Schools:Students and faculty (with ID) and up to 2 companions receive free admission
    ・ August 21 (Shizuoka Prefecture Day): 10% discount

Group Visits

Groups of 15 or more will receive a 20% discount on admission (cannot be combined with other discounts).
Please complete group reservations at least one month before your desired visit date.

  • By Public Transportation

    JR Tokaido Shinkansen → Mishima Station (South Exit)
    From Tokyo: Hikari 45 min / Kodama 60 min
    From Nagoya: Hikari 75 min / Kodama 100 min

    From Mishima Station (South Exit) → Sano Art Museum
    ・ Izu-Hakone Railway: Get off at Mishima-Tamachi Station → 5 min walk
    ・ Tokai Bus: From Bus Stop No. 4, take routes N46 / N47 / N81 → Get off at "Sano Art Museum" (approx. 10 min)
    ・Taxi: approx. 10 min
    ・ On foot: 1.3 km south (approx. 20 min)

  • By car

    From Tomei Expressway: Numazu IC → Sano Art Museum
    ・ Take Prefectural Route 83 to National Route 1, then head toward the Izu-Hakone area for 5 km. Turn left at the Mishima-Tamagawa intersection. (approx. 20 min)
    From Shin-Tomei Expressway: Nagaizumi-Numazu IC → Sano Art Museum
    ・ From the Nagaizumi Interchange Street, turn right at the Kobara-higashi intersection and head south for 3 km. (approx. 20 min)

  • Parking & Bicycle Parking

    Parking (9:00–17:00)
    Free parking is available (50 spaces). During busy periods, please use Mishima City parking lots (fees apply).
    Parking for large buses is located across from the West Gate, next to Gashinen (2 spaces). Reservation required in advance.

    Bicycle Parking (9:00–17:00)
    Located inside the Main Gate on the left.

    Parking is available only for museum visitors.
    The museum assumes no responsibility for accidents or damage occurring in the parking area.

  • Parking

    One priority parking space is available for wheelchair users and visitors with mobility needs.

  • Accessible Restroom

    An accessible restroom is located on the first floor.
    A baby changing table is available. Please note that ostomate facilities are not available.

  • Wheelchair Rental

    Two wheelchairs are available for free rental. Please ask at the Information & Tickets counter.

  • Stroller Rental

    One stroller is available for free rental. Please ask at the Information & Tickets counter.

  • Assistance Dogs

    Assistance dogs (guide, service, and hearing dogs) are welcome.

  • Slopes & Elevator

    A slope connects the parking area to the museum entrance. An elevator is available inside the building.
    Visitors using wheelchairs can move from the parking area to the second‑floor exhibition rooms without barriers.

  • Coin Lockers

    Refundable 100‑yen coin lockers for personal belongings are available on the first floor.

  • AED

    An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is located at the Information &Tickets counter.

Visitor Guidelines

  • Requests for Visitors

    ○ If you have a fever, cough, or other cold-like symptoms, or if you are feeling unwell, please refrain from visiting the museum.
    ○ Please do not touch the artworks or display cases.
    ○ When speaking inside the exhibition rooms, please be considerate of other visitors.
    ○ Only pencils may be used inside the exhibition rooms.
    ○ Photography, video recording, and sketching are not permitted inside the galleries. (If exceptions apply for a specific exhibition, signs will be posted in the venue.)
    ○ Animals, plants, hazardous materials, umbrellas, and large bags may not be brought into the galleries.
    ○ Eating, drinking (including candy and gum), and smoking are not permitted inside the museum.
    ○ Please turn off your mobile phone or set it to silent mode, and refrain from making phone calls inside the galleries.
    ○ Visitors under the influence of alcohol may not enter the museum.
    ○ Please follow the instructions of museum staff at all times.
