50th Anniversary of "Who's Afraid of the Dark?"
Keiko Sena Exhibition 55th Anniversary of Sano Museum of Art and 80th Anniversary of Mishima City

Everyone, turn into a ghost and fly away!
Sena Keiko (1931-), a picture book author known for "Who's Away from the Bed?" and "The Glasses Rabbit," made her debut as a picture book author in 1969 at the age of 37 while busy raising her children. Since then, her simple yet original picture books, created using collage techniques with motifs of ghosts, monsters, rabbits, and other creatures, have become long-selling books that have been passed down by many parents and children across generations.
This exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the birth of one of her representative works, "Who's Away from the Bed?" and features approximately 250 items, including original illustrations and valuable materials from her debut picture book series, "No, No, No Picture Books." It also uncovers her little-known work on magic lanterns and picture-story shows before her debut as a picture book author, providing a complete look at Sena Keiko's creative process. There are also some fun gimmicks set up at the venue, making this an exhibition that even small children can enjoy.
