■Exhibition theme: Swords and sword fittings from the Sugiyama Collection
Kiyoshi Sugiyama (1929-2022), a businessman from Shizuoka Prefecture, was a sword enthusiast and a collector of sword fittings. We will be showcasing some of the finest pieces from his collection.
[Major exhibits]
・Important Art Object Wakizashi, inscribed Kuniyoshi, Kamakura Period
・Short sword with the signature Nobukuni, from the Northern and Southern Courts to the Muromachi period
・Shoki (small) by Sugiura Noriyoshi, Edo period
・Arabesque pattern tsuba, made by Nobuie, Muromachi period
