愛しのほほえみ ―佐野美術館の人形コレクション

This exhibition will feature a carefully selected selection of excellent items from the Sano Museum of Art's doll collection, including Hina dolls, Gosho dolls, Saga dolls and other old Japanese dolls, huggable dolls that entertained women in hand-held games, Western antique dolls, and modern original dolls. The dolls' rich expressions touch our hearts and make us smile unconsciously.

In particular, this time we will be exhibiting for the first time the newly acquired "Oboko Hina" (child doll). This doll was made by one of Kyoto's leading doll makers, Omiya Bunsuke (Kinbun), also known as Sakuragi Soho I, and Menya Shojiro, also known as the 12th Mensho master, and is an elegant doll with a plump, childlike face that somehow exudes elegance. The contrast between the doll's extravagant attire and its childlike expression is interesting, and you will be able to enjoy a different look from the Hina dolls you usually see.

Why not spend a spring day surrounded by the bright smiles of the dolls?
