■■Exhibition Theme: Stories Behind the Swords

This exhibition introduces the stories behind the names given to swords, episodes related to swordsmiths, and the themes depicted on sword fittings.

Exhibited Works

- Tanto, unsigned, attributed to Masamune (Meibutsu Komatsu Masamune), Kamakura period (14th century), Collection of Sano Art Museum
- Tanto, Signature: Muramasa, Muromachi period (16th century), Collection of Sano Art Museum
- Katana, Signature: Izumi no Kami Kaneshige / Gold-inlaid inscription: ‘Dō-sanjū dōji nido uchiotoshi / zendaimimon no ken Yamano Kanjūrō korewo kiru (kaō), Edo period (17th century), Private collection
In addition, there were five other sword fittings, including a small knife and a tsuba (sword guard).

・Figure of a Deva (Tenbu)

A gallery talk will be held in the Collection Room from 11:00 for approximately one hour.
