Free Admission on Saturday, August 1, 2026

On Saturday, August 1, admission to the Sano Art Museum will be free in commemoration of the birthday of our founder, Ryuichi Sano.

Ryuichi Sano (1889–1977) contributed to the development of education and culture in his beloved hometown of Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture, by donating a library, a nursery school, and elementary school swimming pools. To honor his memory and legacy, the museum offers free admission every year on his birthday, August 1.
At the museum entrance, visitors are welcomed by a bronze statue of Ryuichi Sano, created by Seiko Sawada, a renowned sculptor from Atami.

As we expect the museum to be crowded on this day, we recommend using public transportation.
