The World of Murakami Yasunari Embracing the Sea, Mountains, and Rivers: Wildlife Art by a Picture Book Author

Yasunari Murakami is a naturalist artist who has been popular across generations and has produced around 230 picture books to date.
Murakami, who has spent his childhood surrounded by nature, expresses in his works the air, light, wind, sounds, and even smells he senses through his own experiences. The deep blue sky, animals running among the trees, fish swimming in the clear streams, and people coming to play in the forest. The gentle flow of time and space of nature invite us into his picture books. The simple colors and shapes, the composition that makes use of white space, and the dynamic development of the pages are the true joys of Murakami's picture books.
This exhibition will introduce Murakami's creative world through approximately 230 pieces, including original illustrations for picture books such as his representative "Yamame no Pink" series and his latest work "Kumakunsun," as well as magazine and bookbinding works and original goods.
